Friday July 22 was a special day in the school community of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
On this day we celebrated the feast day of our school patron Our lady of Mount Carmel. Our school community came together to celebrate Mass. This Mass was extra special as it was the first school Mass celebrated by Fr Martinho. Many parents and parishioners joined us for this liturgical celebration.
The Parents and Friends Association of our school organised some special treats to help the children remember this special day. The parents gave each child a prayer card of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. They also gave the children a packet of chips and popper to help them celebrate.

🎨 Colour House Day – Term 2 🎨 We began Term 2 by coming together as a school community to celebrate the joy and hope of Easter through our Colour House Day. The day began with a special assembly where we shared the Easter story, reminding us that Jesus is alive and continues to walk with us each day. It was wonderful to see our parents and students engaged in this message of hope and new life. Students then gathered in their Colour House groups, led by our Year 6 Colour House leaders, to learn more about their patrons and take part in a range of team-building and collaborative activities. From getting to know one another to working together, there was a strong sense of connection, belonging and house spirit throughout the day. Dressed in their house colours, students proudly celebrated their identity within our school community, while also reflecting on how we are called to live out our faith through action — supporting one another and building positive relationships. A big thank you to our staff and student leaders for making the day such a meaningful and enjoyable experience for all. 💛💙❤️💚

✝️ God Day – Stations of the Cross ✝️ At the end of last term, our school community gathered for a reverent and moving reenactment of the Stations of the Cross, as our students retold the story of Jesus’ Passion and Death. Each class prayerfully prepared a station, bringing the Scripture to life through drama, reflection, artwork and song. As we journeyed from one station to the next, we were invited to pause, reflect and enter more deeply into the love, sacrifice and hope at the heart of this sacred story. This powerful experience has continued to shape our learning this term, as students now reflect on the story of the Resurrection and what it means to live our faith in action — walking alongside others, showing compassion, and bringing hope to our community. We thank our students, staff and families for their thoughtful participation in this special moment of prayer and reflection.
