It is with deep sadness that we sent this message and prayer to our school community to inform them that Mrs Pam Cooke passed away last night.
Pam was an integral part of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Wentworthville school community for 28 years from 1987 – 2015. She is now at peace.
The OLMC Community joined together with Pam’s family to say goodbye to Pam on Thursday. At the end of the service Year 5 and 6 students, staff both present and past joined with members of Pam’s family and friends to create a guard of honour.
A very reverent and special way for us to say goodbye to a very special person who gave so much of her time for us.
"Pam, a past member of our school community and friend to many of us, has passed after, and we come to You today to give thanks for the gift of her life, and for all of the ways in which she touched our lives and the lives of many children at OLMC.
Comfort her family and be very close to them in their sadness and loss. Help us to help and support each other, especially those within our school who feel most deeply the loss of Pam.
Be with her family and friends in a very special way. Help us to always care for each other in our school, and say thank you to You everyday for all of the people who love us and help us.
We place Pam into Your loving hands Jesus, and ask You to receive her into Your heavenly Kingdom, where she will be happy forever and ever. Eternal rest, grant unto her O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace."
Amen

๐จ Colour House Day โ Term 2 ๐จ We began Term 2 by coming together as a school community to celebrate the joy and hope of Easter through our Colour House Day. The day began with a special assembly where we shared the Easter story, reminding us that Jesus is alive and continues to walk with us each day. It was wonderful to see our parents and students engaged in this message of hope and new life. Students then gathered in their Colour House groups, led by our Year 6 Colour House leaders, to learn more about their patrons and take part in a range of team-building and collaborative activities. From getting to know one another to working together, there was a strong sense of connection, belonging and house spirit throughout the day. Dressed in their house colours, students proudly celebrated their identity within our school community, while also reflecting on how we are called to live out our faith through action โ supporting one another and building positive relationships. A big thank you to our staff and student leaders for making the day such a meaningful and enjoyable experience for all. ๐๐โค๏ธ๐25 Apr 2026

Almighty everlasting God, who sent your Son to die that we might live, grant, we pray, eternal rest to those who gave themselves in service and sacrifice for their country. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen. (Collect Prayer for Anzac Day, Roman Missal)
