In all human societies there are rites of passage that marks the transition from childhood to adulthood.


We all know the special role parents play in a child’s life. All you have to do is bring your child to school to know that you are not alone in your parenting journey.


Last week I was officially appointed as the Principal of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. Putting yourself forward for a position like this is a big decision requiring deep consideration.


This week sees us officially begin the season of Spring. We have been blessed with glorious weather as a sign of the warmth to come as we leave behind the Winter chill. It is fitting that at this time in our church we are celebrating a Season of Creation. This is a time to honour God as Creator and consider our role as stewards of Creation.
This week we take the opportunity to celebrate our fathers, grandfathers and father figures in our lives.


Sub tuum praesidium, these are the words of our school motto. I wonder if you know what these words mean?
When most of us were tiny children we were taught how to make the sign of the Cross. This is a simple symbol of the Trinity.
Jesus reached out to those in the community who were on the margins. Our Bishop, Vincent calls us to do the same.
